Riding Bikes in Santa Monica
This past weekend I paid a little visit to my girlfriend up in LA. We had a nice weekend but something about it just started off horribly…conjunctivitis. Nasty.
Anyway, the day started off well with a morning viewing of The Dark Knight. Since Batman is my favorite superhero, I just couldn’t believe how well the movie was put together; the cast, the action, the story line, and the overall mood of the movie blended into what is easy my favorite superhero movie of all time. Hands down.

We went to go eat lunch at California Chicken Cafe and noticed the day was perfectly sunny and nice. We rented bikes at Santa Monica and rode it all the way down to Venice beach and back up. It took about 1 hour at a very leisurely pace. I must say though, after riding on the biking trail, I found it increasingly frustrating to deal with people who are just standing in the lanes! People who are jogging…not a big deal but the families who stand there having a little pow wow or used the lane to put their shoes on or whatever… pretty dumb. It was unfortunte for the 5 people we collided into. May they rest in peace.
Later on at night, I took the oh-so beauteous girlfriend of mine to Palomino in Westwood. Despite the fact that I was ridiculously underdressed, they still let me in after I slipped the waitress a $1. Can I help that I have a job and that I’m super rich now can I? Of course not! We enjoyed a nice seafood appetizer and an italian entree with some good hearty drink.
Afterwards, we spent a really romantic evening together at Blockbuster Videos with the sole purpose of finding a movie to watch. We failed completely and went back home. A complete failure? I think not. I’d do it all again to spend time with her. =)
